Work History & Focus

James has spent his career driving organizational growth, compliance excellence, and operational transformation across multiple sectors. His professional journey spans banking, lending, appraisal management, valuation compliance, and AI-powered business systems.

He spent 19 years in banking, rising from entry-level positions to become the head of Small Business Banking for Washington Mutual’s West Coast Division. His leadership oversaw multi-market operations, team expansion, risk management, and strategic growth initiatives.

Transitioning into the appraisal management and compliance space, James quickly earned a reputation for ethical leadership and performance. As a consultant, he doubled a client’s annual revenue within 18 months. He later co-founded a national appraisal compliance firm, but ultimately exited due to ethical concerns—choosing principles over profit.

At Vueterix, James shapes the strategic vision and business architecture behind Responsible AI Integration. He works closely with lenders, AMCs, and financial institutions to implement scalable systems for appraisal quality control, bias detection, regulatory alignment, and reviewer-driven hybrid workflows. His mission is to elevate valuation integrity while empowering professionals—not replacing them.

Beyond Vueterix, James leads several companies focused on behavioral health, compliance, and business management. Through his ongoing work, he continues to champion ethical leadership, culturally responsive service delivery, and innovation for regulated industries.

James lives in Herriman, Utah, with his wife Karla. Together they are parents of five children and remain strongly committed to community impact and family values.
